FAQ

Sharing Southeast Asian stories, one box at a time.

Tuk Tuk Box was inspired by the idea of creating a bridge through food where we can be in community with one another.

As a subscriber, inside each month's box you'll find a curated theme and a small gift from us to you!

What is a tuk tuk?

The tuk tuk is an iconic symbol of Southeast Asian lifestyle, and is often referred to in some regions as a ‘tricycle,’ ‘pigeon,’ ‘auto,’ 'bajaj' or ‘lapa.’ The vehicle can be identified by its motorized 3-wheeled rickshaw design and the low putt-putt sound it makes while chugging down the road.

What makes Tuk Tuk Box different from other subscription boxes?

Tuk Tuk Box focuses exclusively on Southeast Asian products and ingredients and includes refugee, migrant, and generational stories in every box.

We have 3 core values:

Exclusively Owned: We are female founded and proud! We are currently the only US based Southeast Asian subscription snack box on the market.

Supportive: Tuk Tuk Box is owned by Southeast Asian women who are daughters of immigrants and refugees. With every box we highlight a Southeast Asian chef or small business owner, helping to create opportunities for the diaspora.

Cooking for a Cause: With every subscription, Tuk Tuk Box gives back to the community through our charity partner Courageous Kitchen, a 501c3 food education non-profit benefiting refugee families living in Bangkok, Thailand and San Diego, California.

How does it all work?

Step 1: Select either a subscription or one-time order.

  • Purchase a 3 month pre-paid subscription and save nearly 20%.

There will be specialty products featured month to month with information to purchase them directly from the purveyor. However, if there’s something specific you absolutely love or do not love, please let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate your unique palate!
